  Historic African American Cemetery established in 1871. The original name of this sacred ground cemetery is Elijah Rest Episcopal Cemetery. The descendents of the founders of Jonesville one of the first black settlements in the United states of America and the builders of the Jones Hall Sims house located inside the National Museum Of African American History and Culture are buried here at this historic cemetery.
